The Second Pacific Economic Congress was held on July 26–27, 2008 in Vladivostok.
The following sessions were considered within the framework of the Congress: Plenary Meeting «Recourses of the Future», topic discussions «Development of transport and logistics complex in the Far Eastern region», «Cities attractive for people», «Efficient market of the financial capital - development of infrastructural and business projects in the Russian Far East», «Potential of energy and gas of Russian Far East».

In July, 1 the delegation of buisness executives from various fields in Niigata, Japan visited FEMRI. The main topic of discussion was: Prospects of transporation industry of Vladivostok and Primorye in connection with Summit APEC 2012.
The following themes were considered during the meeting: port development projects in Primorye, including port-related logistics infrastructure development projects, current situation and future prospects of modernization of logistics industry in Primorye, APEC related infrastructure development projects.

Femri participated in regional seminar «Preparation of Russion Federation to carry out obligations of state flag in accordance with Maritime Labor Convention, 2006 ILO» and presented a paper «Actual problems of Maritime Labor Convention, 2006 ILO implementation» (organiser- Federal agency of sea and river transport together with State Maritime Academy named after S. O. Makarov and Maritime State University named after G. I. Nevelskoi).

Seminar was held in accordance with Plan of actions for ratification of Maritime Labor Convention, 2006 of the International Labour Organization.

Seminar program included discussion of Maritime Labor Convention principals and content, the role of flag state, port state, clasification societies, recognised organisations in implementation of Convention provisions and requirments, international norms in the field of labor and  seamen labour safety demands.
