13-th Local Governments Summit in Northeast Asia was held in Vladivostok from 17–20 September 2008

FEMRI participated in Northeast Asia Business Circles Negotiations that was held for improving trasport and logistic system in the region. The negotiations of such level promote more effective tasks solution and finding common approaches to strategies of NEA countries development in such branches as transport, ecology, energy, etc.

During the meeting participants from Republic of Korea, Japan, China and Mongolia presented papers about perspectives of transport corridors in Tumen region and NEA region in whole, increasing of cargo flow, problems in transport and logistic systems development.

FEMRI presented a paper about potential logistic development in Primorye and touched upon the issues of state of Russian transport system, main directions of NEA transport strategy of Russian Federation, transport and logistic system of the Southern Primorye, as well as integration of Primorsky Kray in transport system of NEA region.

Semenikhin Yaroslav, Director General of FEMRI being a moderator pointed out that negotiations were held in positive and friendly atmosphere, participants share their views and plans on development of transport and logistic systems in their regions and problems solutions in the field.

According to Semenikhin Yaroslav presentation of Mr. Adati Toitiro from Japan «Perspective of transport corridor development in NEA countries» is worth because transport corridors is a good idea. However it has some limits as far as corridors development is not the same, that is why «harmonization of the whole transport space» is nesessary in the first place. It will promote to avoid some problems on different transportation routes.
