The Second Pacific Economic Congress was held on July 26–27, 2008 in Vladivostok.
The following sessions were considered within the framework of the Congress: Plenary Meeting «Recourses of the Future», topic discussions «Development of transport and logistics complex in the Far Eastern region», «Cities attractive for people», «Efficient market of the financial capital - development of infrastructural and business projects in the Russian Far East», «Potential of energy and gas of Russian Far East».

Semenikhin Y. N., Director General of FEMRI presented paper «Transport strategy of Russian Federation up to 2030 and its integration into transport system of North East Asia» in session «Development of transport and logistics complex in the Far Eastern region». The paper touched upon the following topics:
• transport system in Russia,
• new long-term transport strategy provided main directions of transport system development up to 2030,
• integration of Russia and Primorskiy Kray into North East Asia transport system,
• establishing regional transport and logistic system of international level in Primorye.

Among the participants of Transport session were representatives of Primorskiy Kray administration, Federal agency of special economic zones management, FESCO transport group, Commercial port of Vladivostok, Russian railways, transportation and logistics companies from Republic of Korea.
